Dongyang builds China's largest wood carving city

In 2011, Fosun Group teamed up with six other well-known companies to “return” their investment and build China’s largest woodcarving culture Expo City. It is expected that the total investment of 11 billion will be of concern. On March 29, the project officially started.

The China Woodcarving Culture Expo City Project is located on the edge of Phase 1 of Dongyang China Woodcarving City which has been operated. It is also known as Dongyang China Woodcarving City Phase II. Compared with the project itself, the seven leading Zhejiang enterprises, Fosun International, Alibaba Group, Fuchun Holdings, Metersbonwe Group, Shanshan Holdings, Xinguang Holdings, and Hengdian Group Dongxu are even more attractive.

Dongyang woodcarving is a gold signboard in Dongyang, but in the past few years it has faced a shortage of talented people and the cultural heritage is imminent. "I am Dongyang people. I want to promote Dongyang woodcarving to the whole country and the world." Guo Guangchang said that this investment is Fosun's largest single investment in Zhejiang. “There is a price for something, and the culture is priceless. It is necessary to increase the hometown's wood carving culture and promote it through investment. This is more meaningful than its own investment income.”

It was learned very early on that the second-phase project itself was a piece of "artwork." The well-known design firms at home and abroad were invited to conduct multiple rounds of design competitions and the most reasonable plan was finally decided. Yesterday, the project has taken shape: a national-level wood carving cultural museum and a national wood theme exhibition center will comb Dongyang wood carving culture; large wood carving trading center will bring together wood carving masters and wood carving enterprises, and all kinds of works will have everything.

It is understood that the total land area of ​​the project is about 490,000 square meters, and the total construction area is nearly 900,000 square meters, including 26,000 square meters of wood carving museum, 39,000 square meters of wood carving exhibition center, and over 400,000 square meters of trading center.

“The design of the Woodcarving Museum and the Convention and Exhibition Center has fully absorbed the essence of Chinese traditional architecture in the layout of the courtyard space.” The responsible person of the second phase of the Woodcarving City Project said that in addition to these main buildings, the Woodcarving Expo City will be built in a large park and will be supported by Catering, commercial retail and leisure facilities.
